Where is the line that separates a piece of furniture from a sculpture? We conceive tables as flat, rectangular and inert objects. But what would happen if we gave a table depth or even different levels? What would happen if the table itself raised voids in its structure as if it were a building?
Questions like these evoke pieces like ‘The Table of Omar Khayyam IV, made in 1983 by Chillida. This informal approach to a piece of furniture gives us the possibility of reinterpreting the forms we can all use.
Design, art and architecture are different disciplines but with common threads. That is why the sole aspiration of this table is to bring these practices closer: to try to make them converge in an organized way in a piece of furniture.
This table is designed to create spaces that are slightly more sculptural than usual: an artistic touch that offers a different approach to a room without neglecting its practicality.
It is made of American walnut. The dimensions are length 66.41 inches (1687mm.), width 24.40 inches (620mm.) and height 18.89 inches (480mm.)
All my furniture pieces are high-end, manufactured individually and with the greatest possible attention to detail I can do as a joiner . However, you may need to alter the dimensions or even the design. If so, I will be happy to implement your ideas. Please contact me and tell me what you have in mind.
Please note that due to the large size of this table, the legs are disassembled for shipping purposes. They can be easily assembled on delivery.
